NetGalley Review, The Virgin Romance Novelist

Hey Addict's

I'm back with a review of a hilarious book by Meghan Quinn. This is my first time reading from her and i'm glad that I found her through NetGalley. I like to use the site to find unique reads or new authors to follow. So let's get into what this book is about and my review.

See Pretty Official Right lol..

Love this cover it has that "What did I get myself into look"
One of the many things that drew me to the book.

Blurb

Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found it's way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch...

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel?
What about meat swoard? That's what it is... a meat sword, right, all meaty and sword like, slaying through the inner dungeons of a woman's dark desires. What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

God, I have no idea what happens when private parts touch.

I'm a virgin trying to write a romance novel and can't seem to write past a sex scene thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen for a while and gain some real life practice through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups.

But losing my virginity is proving to be tougher than expected...

I don't even know where to begin with my review, but I will tell you that this book is laugh out loud funny.

For me I instantly connected with the virgin romance novelist herself Rosie.  Reading all of her disastrous dates had me thinking about when I was just starting out in my own dating rituals and how some went well but there was some pretty disastrous ones too lol.

We are introduced to Rosie and her two best friends Henry and Delaney.  Henry and Delaney both come up with a plan to get Rosie to loose her virginity in order for her to gain the experience to write her novel.

Sounds like an awesome plan right!!

Not in Rosie's case.

There are some really laugh out loud moments in this book and I'm really glad that I was not anywhere public for my laughing outburst.

Let me just say this, "Manscaping"(my favorite funny scene out of the book) I laughed and cringed for 10 straight minutes. I had to stop reading so I could compose myself and to keep my kids from looking at me like I went crazy lol.

The characters are very likable, you can easily connect with them all. The flow of the story line is very fluid, you won't realize how much traction you've made until you look at your progress percentage.

Just when you think Rosie's dating disasters would cause her to give up an unlikely hero comes out and show's how much he's into her, but that also has some bumps in the road but it's more fear than disastrous.

Rosie being sheltered most of her life causes her to not realize that the one who has stuck by her side is the right guy for her. She almost ruined her friendship and potential love by being a little naive, but don't we all when a good thing is right in our faces.

Oh I forgot to mention that Rosie is a writer for a cat magazine and there are some wicked funny scenes between her and a cat named Sir Lick's Alot.

All in all if your looking for a good humored book that will make you laugh out loud and reminisce on your own dating experiences than I highly recommend this book for your.

Easily one of my favorite book of 2015!!!
