My Favorite Series Week 2 Fever Series By Karen Marie Moning.

Happy Monday Addict's

Welcome to week 2 of My Favorite Series. This week I will be featuring the awesome writing of Karen Marie Moning. Her fever series was introduced to me through H.p Mallory's fan club. Everyone was three books ahead of me when I started to read Darkfever. At first when I started to read Darkfever my initial though was this book is going too slow for me but all that changed when Jericho Barrons entered the picture. Barrons full of mystery and barely leashed violence, but I will get into all of that when I sum up the series for ya. Word of Warning  this series contains heavy violence, sexual encounters and all around badassness.

In the fever world we are introduced to MacKalya Lane better know as Mac. In Mac's world is all parties, endless fun with no worries or cares in the world, that is until she receives a phone call that would change her and her families world forever. Grieving over the loss of her sister Mac decided to fly to Dublin to try to find answers and solve her sisters murder. Little does she know she would discover more then what she intended to. This book is all action and suspense oh I forgot to mention on bad ass named Jericho Barrons. Mac soon discovers that the fae are not all cute and friendly.. Your going to have to take it from me that this series Rocks.. You will be blown away and never look at paranormal books the same again.

So here are the books in order along with their synopsis.

Book 1

1451694
"My name is MacKayla, Mac for short. I'm a sidhe-seer, one who sees the Fae, a fact I accepted only recently and very reluctantly.

My philosophy is pretty simple - any day nobody's trying to kill me is a good day in my book. I haven't had many good days lately. Not since the walls between Man and Fae came down. But then, there's not a sidhe-seer alive who's had a good day since then."

When MacKayla's sister was murdered, she left a single clue to her death, a cryptic message on Mac's cel phone. Journeying to Ireland in search of answers, Mac is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to master a power she had no idea she possessed - a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae.

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister's death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysteriou Jericho...while at the same time, the ruthless V'lane - an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women - closes in on her. As the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac's true mission becomes clear: to find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book - because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control both worlds in their hands.

Book 2

2705590I used to be your average, everyday girl but all that changed one night in Dublin when I saw my first Fae, and got dragged into a world of deadly immortals and ancient secrets...

In her fight to stay alive, MacKayla must find the Sinsar Dubh—a million-year-old book of the blackest magic imaginable, which holds the key to power over the worlds of both the Fae and Man. Pursued by assassins, surrounded by mysterious figures she knows she can’t trust, Mac finds herself torn between two deadly and powerful men: V’lane, the immortal Fae Prince, and Jericho Barrons, a man as irresistible as he is dangerous.

For centuries the shadowy realm of the Fae has coexisted with that of humans. Now the walls between the two are coming down, and Mac is the only thing that stands between them.

Book 3

6402666He calls me his Queen of the Night. I’d die for him. I’d kill for him, too. When MacKayla Lane receives a torn page from her dead sister’s journal, she is stunned by Alina’s desperate words. And now MacKayla knows that her sister’s killer is close. But evil is closer. And suddenly the sidhe-seer is on the hunt: For answers. For revenge. And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.

Mac’s quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V’lane, an insatiable Fae prince of lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.

As All Hallows’ Eve approaches and the city descends into chaos, as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls between worlds—with devastating consequences.…

Book 4

7237556They may have stolen my past, but I’ll never let them take my future.

When the walls between Man and Fae come crashing down, freeing the insatiable, immortal Unseelie from their icy prison, MacKayla Lane is caught in a deadly trap. Captured by the Fae Lord Master, she is left with no memory of who or what she is: the only sidhe-seer alive who can track the Sinsar Dubh, a book of arcane black magic that holds the key to controlling both worlds.

Clawing her way back from oblivion is only the first step Mac must take down a perilous path, from the battle-filled streets of Dublin to the treacherous politics of an ancient, secret sect, through the tangled lies of men who claim to be her allies into the illusory world of the Fae themselves, where nothing is as it seems and Mac is forced to face a soul-shattering truth.

Who do you trust when you can’t even trust yourself?

Book 5

7304203

Evil is a completely different creature, Mac. Evil is bad that believes it’s good.” — MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina, were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever. — Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

What follows is a shocking chain of events with devastating consequences, and now Mac struggles to cope with grief while continuing her mission to acquire and control the Sinsar Dubh -- a book of dark, forbidden magic scribed by the mythical Unseelie King, containing the power to create and destroy worlds.

In an epic battle between humans and Fae, the hunter becomes the hunted when the Sinsar Dubh turns on Mac and begins mowing a deadly path through those she loves.

Who can she turn to? Who can she trust? Who is the woman haunting her dreams? More important, who is Mac herself and what is the destiny she glimpses in the black and crimson designs of an ancient tarot card?

From the luxury of the Lord Master’s penthouse to the sordid depths of an Unseelie nightclub, from the erotic bed of her lover to the terrifying bed of the Unseelie King, Mac’s journey will force her to face the truth of her exile, and to make a choice that will either save the world . . . or destroy it

*ARC Review* Phenomenal X by Michelle A Valentine

Morning Addict's

I had the pleasure of reviewing an ARC for author Michelle A Valentine in exchange for an honest review. She has been posting teasers and excerpts from the book through her Valentine Vixens and her Author FB page. So I was equally excited when she posted that she was looking for bloggers to review Phenomenal X. Trust me I jumped right on that lol. So I finished it and let me say this I am suffering from the worst case of book hangover ever. This book hangover top's Karen Marie Monings Fever Series and that was one heck of a book hangover. So now im trying to scrape what's left of my mind off of my Kindle to write a decent review for you instead of just writing Rita Love's Xavier or Mr and Mrs Cold lol. While I gather my thoughts I will tease you with the Cover, Synopsis and a teaser or excerpt lol.

Sexy cover isn't it...

Synopsis

Good Girl. Notorious Bad-Boy. One Phenomenal Love.

From the mean streets of Detroit rises the newest superstar of professional wrestling, Xavier Cold, better known as Phenomenal X. His muscular physique makes men cower before him and woman lose their minds with desire.Anna Cortez is fresh out of college and naive to the harsh realities of the real world. Tired of living under the thumb of her conservative family, she defies them when she accepts a job as the assistant to wrestling’s most notorious bad-boy. Phenomenal X has an animalistic nature that even good girl Anna finds hard to resist. One night forced to share a bed in a sold-out hotel, lines blur between them and they quickly learn that one lustful night changes everything and neither one of them will ever be the same.

Phenomenal X Excerpt

I stare into his eyes and trace the scruff along his jawline. “It’s okay to be vulnerable sometimes, Xavier. You can be that with me. The past is just that—the past. I base how I feel about you on the man I know you are today. You’re protective and strong, and above all else, you have an amazing heart.”
He closes his eyes and leans into my touch. “You don’t know what you’re asking for. I’m so fucked up, Anna.”
I bite my lip and cradle his face in my hands. “You’re not. I wish you could see what I do.”
I know we’ve had problems, and our relationship is nowhere near perfect, but right now I don’t care about any of that. Every inch of me craves him. I want him to know that he matters to me—that I’m not going anywhere.
I lean in closer to him and he closes his eyes again before resting his forehead against mine, resisting my kiss. “If we smash these fucking friendship rules there’s no going back. Once I have you—that’s it, you’re mine. I won’t allow another man to take what’s mine. Do you understand?”

My Review/Thoughts

If I could give this book at higher rating then
but that would not do this book any justice so instead of my numerical rating, I'm just going to go with this instead...

Yep that about sums it up.. lol.  OMG you guys are in for a treat. I still don't know how to put in words how Awesome Phenomenal X is. I just keep going back to certain parts just to relive the moments between Xavier and Anna. It took me a day and a half(it would have taken me a day had I not have to go to the dr. btw ear and sinus infections suck) anyway's but this book will suck you in a spit you out with a book hangover. Like I said before this is defiantly my favorite book from Michelle(sorry Riff I still love you).

We begin this love story with Anna Cortez who decides to find her independence by leaving her controlling father. Leaving Portland behind and moving in with her Aunt Dee and Cousin Quinn who live in Detroit. While flying out to Detroit Anna catches the eye of Xavier(Phenomenal X) Cold. After a mishap on the flight Anna gets upgraded to first class(courtesy of Xavier) and seated besides the sexy man who she know is trouble.

Xavier know that Anna is different from other women whom he have delt with in the past. He know's he's not good for her after their brief conversation on the flight to Detroit but something keeps pulling him back to Anna. He just might have the perfect idea to get her to stay with him after spending more time with her on his vacation is over.

I can't even put into words how awesome this book is. From the beginning to the end will have you locked in. I swear this is one of those reads that you will devour in on sitting it's just that damn good. I loved that Michelle cold put together a Alpha male who is all yummy goodness*clears throat* I mean who is complex but not frustrating(maybe frustrating for Anna lol). I am a fan of Michelle's and I have read all of her books but this one right her is my favorite out of all of her books. I actually had to re read this because I just did not want it to end. One of my favorite lines out of the book comes from Anna's cousin Quinn. She tells Anna to "Grow a pair of lady nuggets" I damn near choked on my coffee reading that one line lol.

I also loved the fact that even though it seems like Anna lived a sheltered life she did in fact knew how to handle certain situations with two different female characters. Quinn is my favorite supporting character because she reminds me of my friends when I need a push in the right direction or basically stating the obvious lol.

X, X, X what can I say about this Alpha male. Even though Xavier has that domineering presence I love how Anna can hold her own against him and that she also know's how to put him in his place. Xavier may seem like a hard ass but he is all teddy bear(he just doesn't see it but Anna does). I so love him lol.

But I only have one complaint well... maybe it's me whining. When will I get more X??? I'm over here missing him already(hence me re reading). So the big questions is when will Xavier make another appearance in that brilliant mind of yours or better yet demand that you write the next installment in his story lol. But enough of my rambling.

I seriously can't wait til you guys get to experience Phenomenal X like I have and you will start to flood Michelle's fb inbox with demands for more X lol.   Like I said earlier 5 stars will not give it justice but for rating purposes this book get's a
 out of

Fighting to Forget Blog Tour

FightingtoForgetFighting to Forget

Every fighter is drawn to the violence, the release that a perfect hit can bring. But very few are drawn to the pain. Rex Carter lives behind a wall of indifference. The demons from his childhood act as an anesthetic, keeping him distant from emotional connections. Only the ache from a knock to the jaw, the sting of a tattoo needle, or the heat from a piercing can jolt him back from the numbness. The fiery pain is all he can feel, and nothing compares to the burn. Or so he thought. Working in a Las Vegas bar isn't Georgia McIntyre's dream. But she hopes it'll be an end to the nightmare. She's watched him, followed him and kept tabs, all in preparation for this moment: to make amends and share the secret she’s been carrying since she was a kid. But she didn't count on the feelings that seeing him again would stir up, the vacant look in his stormy-blue eyes, and his perfect body now mutilated by ink and metal. And she knows why. She's lived his pain every single day, since the day he left. Changed by time, Rex doesn't remember the girl from his past. If only she could do the same. Will she get the absolution she's spent her life seeking? Or will he continue Fighting to Forget?

My Review/Thoughts

Rating
 Out of

Whew where do I even begin. Let's start off first by saying get your tissues ready because you will be bawling during some scenes in this story.  *Disclaimer* This book contains topic's of sexual abuse, drug abuse and suicide this may not be the book for you if you are strongly opposed to reading about the topic's laid out in the disclaimer.

Rex T-Rex Carter can't remember anything from his childhood but has reoccurring nightmares that keeps him on the brink of sanity. Pain is his only escape while others avoid it he relishes in it. A UFC fighter he is in his element. A private person not wanting anyone to know just how truly damaged he is he keeps up appearances with his band mates and fellow fighters, but there is one who truly knows what hell he has been through.

Georgia(Mac) McIntyre has secretes herself, and those secretes ties to Rex and his past. Working in the same bar his band performs at Georgia has been watching Rex determined to approach him with a secrete that will destroy him and help erase her guilt. All is not what it seems when Georgia reconnects with Rex only to make the nightmares increase, with Georgia holding back from telling the truth about their past will this be able to bring them both together or tear them apart.

What I like about this story line is that you got to see more of what Rex is about. His character caught my attention in Fighting to Forgive along with Mac's character. Initially I thought that Mac was harboring a crush on Rex but you fully get the extent of her watchful eye on Rex. The story line for me flowed effortlessly there were moments where I did indeed cry and that was because I easily sympathized with the character with the the emotions and issues they had to both deal with. Rex had me wanting to jump in the book to try to shield him from all the pain that he has endured.

The message I received through out this book is that no matter if you have blood relatives or not that you have friends that will help you fight your battle alongside you. That's a pretty strong message in my book. There are more to this story then what I have shared with you all but I don't want to post spoilers for you all who have yet to read this. I will say that this is a good book and I do believe this is the best book in the series thus far. I can not wait for the next installment. I defiantly recommend this book for those who love a good romance that does not come easy.

My Favorite Series: Week 1, Part 2 Nice Girls Don't(Jane Jameson) Series

Morning Addict's

Welcome to day two of My favorite Series. Today I am going to be featuring a series that had me laughing out loud in public places, im not talking about giggles but full out grab your stomach have the people around you look at you like your crazy funny lol.

Molly Harper's Nice Girls Don't( Jane Jameson) series is a laugh out loud story about children's librarian Jane Jameson. Down on her luck by loosing her job, Jane thought she was having the worst day of her life when her car breaks down and she has to walk home. Mistaken as a dear by the town drunk Jane is shot and a mysterious stranger saves her life by turning her into a vampire.  Now Jane has to figure out how to live or unlive her life as a vampire all the while trying to fight off her growing attraction to her sire Gabriel. With supporting characters Dick Cheney(yup like the former vice president lol), Jane's Best friend Zeb, one spiteful sister, a mom in denial and a aunt who is haunting Jane.

Now here's the complete series with synopsis

Book 1

5618698Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.
Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Book 2
5999242Following Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs, the second in a hilarious, smart, sexy romantic series about an out-of-work librarian who is turned into a vampire.
With her best friend Zeb’s Titanic-themed wedding looming ahead, new vampire Jane Jameson struggles to develop her budding relationship with her enigmatic sire, Gabriel. It seems unfair that she’s expected to master undead dating while dealing with a groom heading for a nuptial nervous breakdown, his hostile werewolf in-laws, and the ugliest bridesmaid dress in the history of marriage.
Meanwhile, the passing of Jane’s future step-grandpa puts Grandma Ruthie back on the market. Her new fiancÉ, Wilbur, has his own history of suspiciously dead spouses, and he may or may not have died ten years ago. Half-Moon Hollow’s own Black Widow has finally met her match.
Should Jane warn her grandmother of Wilbur’s marital habits or let things run their course? Will Jane always be an undead bridesmaid, never the undead bride?

Book 3
6329322Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson’s sexy sire, Gabriel, has always been unpredictable. But the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow — alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.
Now the children’s-librarian-turned-vampire is reviving with plenty of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family, and her plans for a Brave New Jane. Step One: Get her newly-renovated occult bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the impending birth of their baby . . . or litter. Step Three: Figure out who’s been sending her threatening letters, and how her hostile pen pal is tied to Gabriel. Because for this nice girl, surviving a broken heart is becoming a matter of life and undeath...

Book 4
10797909Just as Jane Jameson’s unlife seems to be stabilizing, fate sinks its fangs firmly into her butt. Despite her near-phobia of all things marital, her no-frills nighttime nuptials to her sexy boyfriend Gabriel are coming along smoothly. But the road to wedded bliss gets bumpy when a teenage acquaintance is fatally wounded in front of Jane’s shop and she turns him to save his life. The Council pronounces Jane responsible for the newborn vamp until he can control his thirst.

Jane’s kitchen at River Oaks barely holds enough Faux Type O to satiate the cute teen’s appetite and maintain Gabriel’s jealous streak at a slow simmer. As if keeping her hyperactive childe from sucking the blood out of the entire neighborhood isn’t enough to deal with, the persnickety ghost of Jane’s newly deceased Grandma Ruthie has declared a war on the fanged residents of River Oaks. Suddenly,
choosing monogrammed cocktail napkins and a cake that she can’t eat seems downright relaxing in comparison.

Tensions inside the house are growing…and outside, a sinister force is aiming a stake straight for the center of Gabriel’s heart. Most brides just have to worry about choosing the right dress, but Jane fears that at this rate, she’ll never make it down the aisle for the wedding all nice girls dream of…
I also had a chance to meet Molly and her wonderful mom Miss Judy at RT last year. We both have something in common being epic klutzes lol. I can't wait to hang out with her again and compare stories about our children and embarrassing moments lol.  I hope you guys are noticing a pattern here because of H.p Mallory and her fb group friends of H.p Mallory, I discovered Molly and her books :-).
To follow this awesome lady here and find out other books she has written you can follow her through these links below.

That concludes week 1 of My Favorite Series be sure to tune in for next weeks spotlight on two more authors and their kick ass series.

Excerpt

I stop dead in my tracks, a handful of steps from turning the corner into the kitchen. Everything inside of me goes boiling hot and then frigid cold in a matter of seconds. My heart feels like it’s stopped inside my chest before I bring my fist up and pound—hard—to get it to start beating again. Mike, who is a few steps ahead of me turns the corner at the same moment I halt, and I hear him say, “Oh fuck.”

There’s silence for a minute, and then Leanne clears her throat uncomfortably. “Uh, Mike, I guess you know Walsh’s friend?”

I’m breathing hard now, and I’m not sure I can keep standing. It feels like my damn heart is going to pitch itself out of my chest onto the floor. I bend over and put my hands on my knees, praying that they can’t hear my raspy breaths from inside the kitchen.
“Uh, yeah,” Mike answers tentatively.

“Is he here?” the visitor asks. I hear the hope in the voice, and the false bravado that only I would pick up on. Mike turns his head slightly to glance at me over his shoulder, but I can’t look him in the eye, I’m working too hard at being able to stand up straight and breathe.

“I’m not sure…”

“Mike, please,” the guest interrupts, that bravado slipping, and a certain desperation leaking through. Even after all this time, I can’t stand to hear that need. I’m compelled to fix it, make it better, find a way to bring the hope back.

“It’s okay, Mike,” I say hoarsely as I finally step forward to stand next to him in the kitchen. I stop, taking in the scene, like a frozen tableau, all eyes on me—one pair waiting for me to freak the fuck out, the second questioning what the hell is going on, and the third. Ah, the third. I look into the depths of those eyes, remembering all the hours I spent lost in their velvety texture, their warmth, their love. The love I thought was mine to hold forever. Those eyes in the face of the person who committed the greatest hurt I’ve ever felt in my twenty-eight years. The eyes that looked at me every day for months on end and lied. The eyes of the woman I still, very reluctantly, love to this day.

I blink, take a deep breath and say, “Hi Tammy. What brings you by?”

When she agrees to the summer job, Mel has no idea she's walking into a minefield of friendships lost and hearts destroyed. She also has no idea what it means to be the object of Joss Jamison's affections.

One hot rock star plus one life-altering mistake, add a dash of sexy younger sister and a handful of broken hearts, and you've got a recipe for fire. Life on the road can be hot, but for the boys of Lush, it's about to get a whole hell of a lot hotter.
