Fighting To Forgive Blog Tour

Fighting to Forgive

by JB Salsbury

What do you do when everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need? Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets. With his fighting career in full swing, he's on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about. He won’t let that happen. Not again. Layla’s through with men. After a marriage that never should’ve happened, she hopes to reclaim the pieces of the woman she lost years ago. Emotional abuse has left her insecure and terrified. A master at faking what she’s not feeling, she masks her self-doubt in false confidence. She’ll never let another man hurt her. Not again. Chased by shadows of the past, Blake and Layla know what they don’t want, but their hearts have a different plan. As a web of lies and betrayal threatens to destroy them, they’re forced to make a choice. Is love enough to heal even the deepest wounds?

My Review
5 stars out of 5

Where to begin except for grab you tissues because your going to need it. Layla and her daughter Elle have packed up and moved to Las Vegas for a fresh start and away from the emotional pain her ex caused her that still effects her. What I like about Layla is that even though she feels she has to put on a mask that shows confidence she really does have it even when she feels like she's at her weakest. She has been though a whole lot with her ex husband and she is trying to make a better life for her and her 16 year old daughter, even though love was not in the cards for her Blake appears. I love how he brings the sass out in her. Don't get me wrong the prologue explains a lot about why Blake is the way he is and he also has his fair share of baggage also. But when Layla begins to open up and let Blake in he see's what makes Layla ticks, he is determined to protect Layla and Elle. But he also wants to run for the hills because of all the issues that Layla has. Their attraction between each other is what keeps pulling him back in. And speaking about attraction holy smokes it's hot lol. This story had me reading it at inappropriate times( ex. work thank god for smartphones lol). But seriously the two of them face numerous hurdles of self revelations about themselves to see the bigger picture that they both are dealing with the same demons. Oh I forgot to tell you that Blake is a MMA fighter(so hot lol). And that this is my first MMA read. I am thinking I need to add more to the list. This book for me is a very good read. I really couldn't stop reading it( hence the previous comment about reading at work lol).
