She was confident. She moved with purpose.

It hit me how much she changed from when she’d moved in with Analise. She’d lost everything. She hadn’t cared about anything, and she had been a badass because of it—striking out, not giving a shit. Logan and I took her in, and then she had something to lose—me. She got scared. She was pushed around by the girls and bullied by her own mother, and through all that crap, she’d still fought. She’d clawed her way back up, protecting and loving Logan and me at the same time.

Good god. I wanted to pull her on top of me. I wanted to lose myself in her.

When I sat on the couch, Sam had a knowing grin, and she sat right where I wanted her, right where maybe she shouldn’t have. My hands held her hips as she straddled me. She looped her arms around my neck and rested her forehead to mine.

Her grin never dimmed, not even as she teased, “Why do I feel like we’re in high school, and I don’t want my mom to catch us making out in the basement?”

Shit, I love this woman.

A smooth and lazy low laugh flitted from her lips. I waited for her to find my mouth with hers, but she didn’t.

She held back and her eyes traced over my face. “What happened today?”

I wasn’t going to tell her. More time. I needed more time.

I didn't begin writing until after undergraduate college. There'd been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can't blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I'm hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! “What’s that?” Austin asked, snatching my list out of Shannon’s hand.

“The list for my research project. Do you know any men who fit my criteria?” I asked.

He studied the list for a moment before handing it back to me. “I know a few.”

Six eyes turned to Austin. “Who?” I asked.

“I know a rock star. Well, kind of. He sings for a local band, but they’ve got a great following. I know several businessmen, but not any CEOs. I might be able to hook you up with one, though. And I know a few bars around here where your bad boys hang out.”

My jaw dropped. Everyone has that one friend who knows everybody. Austin had lived in San Diego his entire life, so he knew the lay of the land.

“Take me to your bars!” I practically yelled, garnering a glare from students studying nearby. “Sorry,” I whispered.

“Wait a minute,” Shannon said. “I thought of a few you’re missing from your list.”

A few I was missing? I thought I’d pretty much covered all the bases. “Who?”

“You need a Fabio.” She stated it like it was obvious.

“Like a cover model?” I asked.

She shrugged. “Sure. Or like a historical romance guy.”

I laughed. Shannon could be a bit of an airhead sometimes. “Where am I going to find a historical romance guy? We’re in the present tense, Shannon.”

“Duh. Renaissance Festival. And Austin, you seem to know everybody else. Do you know any vampires?”

Laughter bubbled up from my chest. I couldn’t help when it spilled out, and when I looked over at Austin and Scott, I found a similar reaction. Shannon stared at us blankly.

“What?” she asked.

“Vampires?” I asked through my giggles.

“They’re in all the books,” she clarified, only spurring on our laughter. Her brows came together in anger.

My giggles turned into those silent quaking convulsions that I couldn’t possibly control. Scott was holding up his hand as if to tell Shannon to stop while he laughed, and Austin clutched his stomach from the hilarity.

We’d stop for a minute only to glance at one or the other, and then we’d start back up again, garnering more glares from students near us.

Our laughing had to have gone on for at least a full five minutes before we were composed enough to talk about it.

“What?” Shannon finally asked in frustration.

Austin gave Shannon a very serious look while I stifled another wave of giggles. Scott had to excuse himself after a less than flattering snort.

“Vampires aren’t real,” Austin finally said.

“Well, you need a paranormal,” Shannon said, her voice both irritated and completely serious. “How about a werewolf?”

After that comment, it was my turn to excuse myself after a less than flattering snort.

Lisa Suzanne started handwriting her books on yellow legal pads after she took a creative writing class in high school. She still has those legal pads full of stories, but now one of them is published under the title How He Really Feels. She currently works as a full time high school English teacher, and her favorite part of the year is summer. She has been blessed with the world’s best dog, a supportive family, and a husband who encouraged her to publish after reading one of her novels. So after a two or is it three(lol) month break. I'm back again, and this time I have an awesome review for the Markham Hall Series by Sierra Simone. If you don't know who Sierra Simone is then please, please, pllleeeaaassseee, look her up. She wrote one of the hottest books this summer and one of my top favorite book for this year. I admit I have now become a taboo junkie( forbidden romances). Check out her book Priest(hot hot hot stuff right there). You will not be disappointed.

I don't normally read Historical romances but when I received a sign-up for this series in my inbox, I actually let it sit for about a week(that was before I read Priest). After reading Priest, I was cleaning out my inbox and saw the review request again. After reading the blurb and debating if I wanted to read Markham Hall series I decided to sign up and read more from Sierra Simone.

I'm glad I did. 

The Markham series has a little bit of everything, Mystery, forbidden romance, erotica.  I absolutely enjoyed reading this series.

Ivy our lead is not your average prim and proper lady. Ivy is what you call a free spirit, rather than be at boring social gatherings she would rather be outdoors reading a book or exploring nature. 

After the death of her brother Ivy leaves the only home she knows to live at Markham Hall with her late cousins husband, Julian Markham.

Like I wrote before this series has a little bit of everything for me. I was captivated by this story from page 1. This for me is about learning to accept who you are despite what society deems how you should present yourself. 

I did have one small issue when Ivy kept calling Julian, Mr Markham even after being intimate with him, but after talking with DynoMoon she explained that was what the women did in the Austen era(see told you I don't normally read historicals lol)

Did I mention how hot this story line is??

No I didn't 

You guys are in for a sensual treat with this series. The sexual tension between Ivy and Julian is so so thick *fans self*. There are several scenes that will make you squirm in your seat and feel flushed. Now normally when I read a story or series when the sexual tention is thick between the two characters that when they finally do the deed sometimes I loose interest in the story after.

Not with this one..

The drama is woven into the story so beautifully will keep you glued to your kindles. There were several times I wanted to smack Julian's housekeeper for being a total bitch. The mystery surrounding Ivy's cousin/Julian's wife's death alone will have you second guessing our dark hero's innocence.

All and all this is a must read for me and easily one of my top books for this year.
