An Interview with R.M Gilmore

Who or what inspired you to become an Author?

One night I got drunk...the good once always start like this. The idea of Dylan Hart (read the books it'll make sense) sparked in my noggin and kind of grew over time. It took years before that idea became anything that resembled a book, but I let someone read it and they pretty much forced me to finish it. A few years ago I decided to publish direct - Indie - and forgo trad pub outright. Dylan Hart is now a series with the third book coming soon, as well as, short stories and a YA novella trilogy. I can't say I was inspired to become an author - I just figured out that writing was the outlet I needed. Either that or Lithium.

What is the most outragous scene you've written or cut from your books?

Drunken vomit - don't want to give too much away to those who have yet to read book two - but let's just say if you're planning on making-out watch your alcohol intake.

If you could be any character you've written who would it be?

Dominika. She's a bitch, but she's super hot and the accent helps a bit too. A lot would probably assume I'd choose Dylan, but I am already pretty much Dylan. Why not go for the gusto?

What was the first novel you ever read

The first non-school book I read was A Child Called It. I cried. I don't cry - like ever - and I bawled like a little bitch. I was 18 and thought I ruled the world. The experience was humbling to say the least.

If you could pick one paranormal creature to spend eternity, with which would you choose?

Shifter. It's so versatile. If i have to spend eternity that way I might as well give myself he most opportunities for growth. Let's say one day I want to be a bat? POOF! I'm a bat. In a week I might want to be a tiger - BAM - I'm a damn tiger. Hmmm, can shifters become vampires? I guess it depends on the story you're reading. But, in my story they can and they will. So there you have it - shifter.

Thank you R.M for that awesome interview.

Now with every blog tour that I have participated in may I present to you, The book review..

Synopsis

The Scene (Dylan Hart #1)

Irreverent twenty-something, Dylan Hart, has her little black heart set to cash-in on the blood-drained bodies of seven prostitutes scattered throughout southern California.
In search of the culprit of the media-dubbed Vampire Massacres, journalist Dylan Hart dives head first into L.A.’s sanguinary ‘vampire’ subculture, in an attempt to write her first best-selling novel and pay off her ever growing student debt.
Dylan drinks whiskey, smokes like a chimney, and possesses a mouth she wouldn’t kiss her mama with and with the aid of her statuesque hetero-life-mate Tatum Price, Dylan takes the case head-on, slicing her way through the absurd, the ethereal and the deadly serious, of the underground ‘vampire’ community. But lies and skepticism keep Dylan from the facts hidden within fiction and the danger lurking right under her nose. It’s all shits and giggles until a dead body pops up at your back door.

My Review

Dylan Hart is a no nonsense, no filter journalist/ aspiring true crime author. I loved that Dylan had that no nonsense attitude, along with her best friend tabloid journalist Tatum the two make a comical pair. What really drew me in with this plot was the are the vampires real or is it all an act. With enough suspense and a couple of moments that made me jump lol.  I loved the inner dialogue Dylan has with herself when she's trying to think things through or just trying to keep herself from saying stuff out loud when she want's to call that person out on their BS lol.  I highly recommend this book and I can not wait to read the second installment to see what kinda trouble Dylan will get herself into.
