Fighting to Forget Blog Tour

FightingtoForgetFighting to Forget

Every fighter is drawn to the violence, the release that a perfect hit can bring. But very few are drawn to the pain. Rex Carter lives behind a wall of indifference. The demons from his childhood act as an anesthetic, keeping him distant from emotional connections. Only the ache from a knock to the jaw, the sting of a tattoo needle, or the heat from a piercing can jolt him back from the numbness. The fiery pain is all he can feel, and nothing compares to the burn. Or so he thought. Working in a Las Vegas bar isn't Georgia McIntyre's dream. But she hopes it'll be an end to the nightmare. She's watched him, followed him and kept tabs, all in preparation for this moment: to make amends and share the secret she’s been carrying since she was a kid. But she didn't count on the feelings that seeing him again would stir up, the vacant look in his stormy-blue eyes, and his perfect body now mutilated by ink and metal. And she knows why. She's lived his pain every single day, since the day he left. Changed by time, Rex doesn't remember the girl from his past. If only she could do the same. Will she get the absolution she's spent her life seeking? Or will he continue Fighting to Forget?

My Review/Thoughts

Whew where do I even begin. Let's start off first by saying get your tissues ready because you will be bawling during some scenes in this story.  *Disclaimer* This book contains topic's of sexual abuse, drug abuse and suicide this may not be the book for you if you are strongly opposed to reading about the topic's laid out in the disclaimer.

Rex T-Rex Carter can't remember anything from his childhood but has reoccurring nightmares that keeps him on the brink of sanity. Pain is his only escape while others avoid it he relishes in it. A UFC fighter he is in his element. A private person not wanting anyone to know just how truly damaged he is he keeps up appearances with his band mates and fellow fighters, but there is one who truly knows what hell he has been through.

Georgia(Mac) McIntyre has secretes herself, and those secretes ties to Rex and his past. Working in the same bar his band performs at Georgia has been watching Rex determined to approach him with a secrete that will destroy him and help erase her guilt. All is not what it seems when Georgia reconnects with Rex only to make the nightmares increase, with Georgia holding back from telling the truth about their past will this be able to bring them both together or tear them apart.

What I like about this story line is that you got to see more of what Rex is about. His character caught my attention in Fighting to Forgive along with Mac's character. Initially I thought that Mac was harboring a crush on Rex but you fully get the extent of her watchful eye on Rex. The story line for me flowed effortlessly there were moments where I did indeed cry and that was because I easily sympathized with the character with the the emotions and issues they had to both deal with. Rex had me wanting to jump in the book to try to shield him from all the pain that he has endured.

The message I received through out this book is that no matter if you have blood relatives or not that you have friends that will help you fight your battle alongside you. That's a pretty strong message in my book. There are more to this story then what I have shared with you all but I don't want to post spoilers for you all who have yet to read this. I will say that this is a good book and I do believe this is the best book in the series thus far. I can not wait for the next installment. I defiantly recommend this book for those who love a good romance that does not come easy.
