Born the daughter of a rock star and his groupie, my life should have been full of glitz and glamour. But the excess and embarrassment of that life didn’t interest me. Instead, I killed time at Vintage, a record store where I stocked shelves and lacked ambition.

Everything changed the moment I pressed play. One simple lyric awakened me.

When I stopped denying my attraction to the man behind the music, I started questioning his intentions. We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn’t because of fate.

Someone was playing with our lives.

This is a story about learning to let go and trust.

Roxy is the daughter of a rock legend, but she doesn't want anything to do with the spotlight. She's been burned before by people who only wanted to get close to her father. Dealing with abandonment issues by her ex, Roxy decides to stay to herself and learned not to feel. That is until Parker James enters her life. The attraction between them is undeniable but will Roxy be able to let Parker in without second guessing his intentions.

What drew me into this storyline is the fact that Roxy chooses to try to live a normal life and not be the spoiled kid of a Rock legend. I like the fact that she is independent and opinionated. Roxy is defiently stubborn to a fault, where I got a little frustrated with her.

Roxy's relationship with Parker is hot off the charts when they are not both keeping secretes from each other about their past. I found it refreshing that they didn't have a conventional relationship. You can really feel the depth of their feelings for each other.

The storyline is very fluid you can easily get swept away in the story.  There is an air of danger in this story to keep you on your toes. I also loved the fact that Parker can be such a gentleman but will easily dominate when things get heated in the bedroom between him and Roxy.

I can't wait for Volume 2 to be released next month.

Meet the Author

Lisa Suzanne started handwriting her books on yellow legal pads after she took a creative writing class in high school. She still has those legal pads full of stories, but now one of them is published under the title How He Really Feels. She currently works as a full time high school English teacher, and her favorite part of the year is summer. She has been blessed with the world’s best dog, a supportive family, and a husband who encouraged her to publish after reading one of her novels. She likes the advice of Ernest Hemingway’s famous quote, “Write drunk. Edit sober.”
