Blog Tour Stop *A Stroke of Luck *

Howdy Addicts

I am excited to be hosting my first blog tour stop today!!! What better way to get a blog tour started then by posting the actual book and excerpt lol.

So I present to you A Stroke of Luck by Desiree DeOrto

Synopsis

When you work in an all-night diner, you never know who will walk in the door.

Katie Jones doesn't believe in love at first sight. After divorcing her abusive husband, she doesn't believe in love at all. But when Jacob Richmond walked into Bud's Diner, her disbelief was put to the test.

Jacob came to Kansas to find inspiration. He was searching for the subject that would be the muse for his next masterpiece. He wasn't expecting to find himself completely consumed by a waitress who had more baggage than he thought possible.

When love at first sight just doesn't cut it, your burning desire can't be controlled. Sometimes you need just a little luck to put it all together.

He was searching for inspiration....
She was searching for an escape...
But with a Stroke Of Luck, anything can happen

EXCERPT

Jacob and Katie: He grinned, running his hand over his cropped hair. “Promise you won't laugh?”
She raised an eyebrow. “I can't promise that. But I can promise that I will hear you out before I do laugh.”
He chuckled, and embarrassed flush creeping up his neck. “Well, I've always been creative. Even when I was little. I've always been fascinated with creating something beautiful out of nothing. Or finding beauty where other people overlook.”
She stayed silent for a moment, her green eyes piercing into him. He felt like she was looking into his soul, opening it up and inspecting all aspects of it. He was ensnared. A blush stained her cheeks as she looked away.
“I don't think that's funny. I find it quite remarkable actually.”

My Review

A Stroke of Luck is one of those books where you need a cold shower after reading(or your other half lol). I loved it!!

This novella is about a waitress named Katie who works in a Diner on the graveyard shift. Katie returned back to her small hometown after getting away and divorcing her abusive ex-husband. After dealing with the physical and emotional scars at the hands of her ex. Katie is through with love that is until sexy artist Jacob enters the diner. Jacob was searching for his next muse to reignite his masterpieces. When Jacob first lain eyes on Katie he knew that there was more to her then a muse for his artistic inspiration. Sparks fly between the two but will Katie let her guard down to let Jacob in and love her the way she is suppose to be loved??

I loved this story it was a quick read. The chemistry between Katie and Jacob was off the charts hot. I loved that Desiree didn't try to pack a big story in a small package. It was just the right mix of hot, sweetness, drama and swoon to leave you satisfied or craving for more(hint hint lol). I love Bud he is suck a sweetheart that will pull at your heartstrings as the widowed Diner Cook/Owner. But all in all this is a good book to read when you are in between books or want to get over a book hangover. I can't wait on the next installment to see how Bud will work his magic on his other waitress Vicky.

Reading progress on Hopeless.

Hey Addict's

Just wanted to give you and update on my reading progress of Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. So far i'm about 184 pages in and let me tell you i'm kinda sucked in the story right now lol. It's a really good story line with an easy flo to it. The two main characters are Sky and Holder(his first name is Dean). In the beginning it's a case of mistaken identity when Sky meets Holder in a grocery store, but everything picks up right after that. There is an air of mystery surrounding Holder concerning his mood swings and how intense he can be when interacting with certain situations with Sky. Sky is a very tough cookie not letting the pressures of teenage life get to her, but it bugs me that she does not show a lot of emotion(in the beginning). She is basically shut off from any technology(due to her adoptive mother Karen and being home schooled) so it's kinda funny seeing her interact with things that you would normally visualize a teenager using regularly ( ie cell phone, e readers).

So far I'm really loving this story, it does have it's emotional up's and downs when repressed memories from Sky's childhood emerges as dreams, or when Holder is still dealing with the tragedy that happened to his family the year before.

There is one thing that is really going to probably sucker punch me as I read more. I feel as though Holder know more about Sky than what he previously led on when he first met Sky. I don't know I have a feeling that they might be related (ewwww gross) but I really hope that's not the case. It just tipped me off in one scene when Sky told her mother that she was officially dating Holder and how as described she blanched and had a look of shock on her face. Also when Holder was approaching Karen with Sky he was looking angry at her and her boyfriend Jack. I hope my suspicion's are not true(that would suck).

But I just wanted to jump on here and update you guys. I am about to dive back into this book. I should be finished sometime tomorrow and will give you either an update or a full review.  I will probably blog from my phone tomorrow for my 9 year old minion has a dental appointment( mommy duties first then play lol)

Until then....

Behave yourselves and Read On!!!

Rerouting the blog..

Hola Addict's

It's been a few days since I last posted. I have been doing a little reading and networking with different authors on facebook/twitter. Hopefully my networking will pay off lol. I don't want to spoil or jinx what I have in the works so let's just say I have been doing my best to boost traffic and bring subscribers to the house, but we shall see*evil laugh* lol.

Now on to the changes I have made to this blog.  You guys now have a different tabs to navigate through this blog. I felt that this was needed to keep confusion down and to separate the reviews from the latest news to contest. I want you all to have a easy experience where if your looking for something specific you can just click on the tab to take you there.

Also on the home page is where I will be posting my progress on the books that I am currently reading.

And finally.....

I finally finished reading Down London Road *wooohhhhooooo* lol. Sorry for the delay but I was sick on my two days off and dealing with a runny nose and swollen eyes, which was not cool and hard as hell to read when you have tissue stuck up your nose and when you squint to look at screen to read your actually closing your eyes lol.

Now on to the Review...

oops wrong tab lol

Down London Road progress

Afternoon Addicts!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. Me I'm at work (as you can tell its a slow day for now lol). So I decided to use this downtime and blog from my phone #teamsg3 lol.

Anyways I just wanted to update you guys on my progress with Down London Road by Samantha Young.

Currently I am on chapter 7 so far I'm struggling (I think I'm having a slight case of book hangover from On Dublin street) but so far its ok. The main character Jo is not what she seems when she was introduced in On dublin street. Her character is a very self reliant person but everyone except for her friends, see her as a gold digger(she dates only rich men). But there is a reason for her dating as Joss calls them *sugar daddies* I'm not going to spoil it for you guys but you get the picture.

I really do like the development of this story line so far. Jo's mother is a bit of a bitch and her current boyfriend's ex's boyfriend can be a bit of a judgemental ass. Cam (the judgemental ass) is now her coworker at the club but there is some serious attraction going on between the two.

I will be reading more on my commute home and during my downtime at home.

I'm signing off now too many bosses walking around lol.

Behave yourselves and Read On!!!!!

On Dublin Street Review/ Currently Reading!!!!!

Evening Addict's

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July holiday.. I had to work but after work I hung out with my 2 chica's  Author L.H Nicole and my twin(not really twins but everyone say we look alike lol) Christena. So we went to Art Jamz which is a really cool place by the way. My original vision didn't go as planed so I ended up with this instead.
it was suppose to be butterflies but it started to take shape of Hello Kitty's bow lol, so I went with it..

So enough of my rambling about me being kid free yesterday(hubby took them to go shoot fireworks with friends )

And now on to my review and author profile.

Now as you all know I was reading On Dublin Street the last time I posted on here and i'm going to now give you the cover and blub

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well—until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her… down to the very soul.

Now on to Author Samantha Young

a 27 year old Scottish book addict and I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. I studied ancient and medieval history at uni, and it was in my first year there, in the middle of a classical literature lecture, that I first came up with the idea for The Tale of Lunarmorte. I've been writing since as long as I can remember, and I write in a number of genres including romance, paranormal, urban fantasy, fantasy, and contemporary.
I love pulling pieces of historical fact (or mythology) and twisting it to fit my stories, and am more than thankful my degree is being put to good use in my writing. I began self-publishing in 2011 and now write full time.

Another huge part of my life is music and more often than not my music and writing come together.I'm a fan of many, many bands and artists; topping the list: The Airborne Toxic Event, Metric, White Lies, Biffy Clyro, the Killers, Muse, Paramore, Alex Winston, The Cardigans, Adele, We Are Scientists, the Kooks, Arcade Fire, Silverchair,Rihanna, Paolo Nutini,Kings of Leon, Florence and the Machine, and many, many more artists who can inspire the perfect scene.

As I said I'm also a massive book addict - my favourite writers: Chloe Neill, Stacia Kane, Laini Taylor, Taherah Mafi, Tammy Blackwell, Julie Kagawa, Patrick Ness, Orson Scott Card, Veronica Roth, Richelle Mead, Cassandra Clare, Michael Grant, Suzanne Collins, Rachel Vincent, Rachel Caine, Charlaine Harris, Maria V. Snyder, Melissa de la Cruz, Karen Marie Moning, Angela Carter, Margaret Atwood, J.K. Rowling and again, many, many more incredible authors

And now for my review/thoughts........

Where do I begin with my review.... I loved it!!!! Loved the story line and all the obstacles Joss had to go though in order to love and let people in. The beginning tugged at my heart strings. But when the book switched back to the present day you have Joss sharing a cab with Braden Carmichael. What Joss thought was just two people sharing an interesting cab ride, but fate had other plans for Joss it wouldn't be the first and last time she see's Braden. What really had me hooked on the book is the slow burn of attraction between the two. At times I wanted to yell at Joss to just get over her issues, but dealing with the tragic event's in the beginning of the book I totally understand that it takes time for someone to heal. Excellent plot line that kept me reeled in from the beginning till the end.

The next book that I am currently reading is Down London Road
This is Book 2 in her on Dublin Street series. As soon as I get a good chunk of ground covered with this book I will post an update on how far I am in the book..

Until then Have a fun weekend and as always

Rock my World Thoughts/ Currently Reading

Rock My World thoughts/What i'm Currently Reading

Morning Addict's

So as I stated on Saturday that I did finished reading Tie Me that night(awesome story and plot line by the way) and then I moved on, on Sunday to Rock My World.

Rock My World is the creation of author Michelle A Valentine. This is the follow up to Rock My Bed in her Black Falcon series.

Here is the Series listed in order

1. Rock The Heart
1.5  Rock The Band
2. Rock My Bed
2.5. Rock My World
3 Rock The Beat (Coming soon)

As always here is the cover and blurb for Rock My World followed my thoughts.
After Aubrey Jenson is wrongly dismissed from her job at Center Stage Marketing, she seeks legal advice from her father, The Judge, to see what grounds she has to get her position reinstated. Her surprise visit to her family doesn’t go as smoothly as she hopes when she brings home her new boyfriend, Zach, Black Falcon’s lead guitarist. She soon discovers that father doesn’t always know best when it comes to matters of the heart.

When Zach meets Aubrey’s family, he’s immediately faced with his deepest fear: The love he so desperately wants, he doesn’t deserve. The Judge makes no attempt to hide his disdain for Zach, and will stop at nothing to keep him away from his daughter. But an unexpected twist turns everyone’s plans upside down and no one’s world will ever be the same.

Outside forces attempting to pull them apart are strong and it’s going to take every bit of Zach and Aubrey’s love for one another to withstand the fall-out. Soon, they discover making love last is harder than finding it to begin with and sometimes you pay the ultimate price for true love

My Thought's on Rock my World

What I loved about this story was how much Riff was willing to risk it all just to stay with Aubrey when he was being blackmailed by the Judge, and how Aubrey stood up to her parents and overcame her fears of disappointing them because of who she was in love with, and who they thinks she needs to be with.

I also loved the fact that We got to see Noel and Lane and the continuation to their story towards the end.

The ending was very well written and didn't make me feel as though the Author needed to explain more of the story or have that unfinished feel to it. This book had me hooked from the beginning till the end and I can't wait till Trip's story is released.

Michelle A. Valentine you Rock!!!!

Now on to what I am currently Reading and I swear this book is like crack lol. One of the many reasons why I didn't blog on sun, mon or tues.  This book has sucked me in and has me twitching with withdrawals when I can't read it(not really but I do get that urge to run and open my nook app lol) But enough with my rambling here is my book i'm reading this week.

On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
Yeah, Yeah I know i'm late but this book is really good. I'm a sucker for a romance where the leading lady has serious emotional issues lol. But mmmm yeah the attraction between Joss and Braden is a slow slow burn that suckes you in when they first meet. I'm telling you that this book is calling my name now lol. I'm about halfway though so I should give you guys an update either later on today or Friday. I since no one will really be online tomorrow celebrating the 4th of July and all lol.

I'm going to sign off for now my little minions are getting on each other's nerves and are arguing with each other smh. Mommy duties never fail lol.

Have a safe and fun 4th...
