Review Author Anonymous by E.K. Blair

29613610

A TRUE STORY told through the voice of New York Times Bestselling author E.K. Blair.

She’s an author.
She’s a mother.
She’s a wife.
She’s a fraud.

A woman marked and bound by her own deceit, this is the astounding tale of how one choice knocked her world from its axis forcing her to battle through a year of scandal and betrayal, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.

This is an intoxicatingly risqué stand-alone true story tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition.

What the F*ck did I actually read!!!

Bear with me addict's, I just literally finished reading this. I am right now feeling raw with a side heaping of bundled emotions. I want to thank the Anonymous Author for sharing her story and to Author E.K. Blair for writing Anonymous's story.

With that being said, I just really feel like my heart has be shredded into a million pieces and my mind a jumbled mess. I was so carried away in this story. There are very few books that will really transport me subconsciously into the story. This one has defiantly done it for me. I felt like I was standing in each scenario hiding in the corner of the room watching everything play out.

The story of Tor and her husband Landon has left me raw and itchy. There were several maybe more times where I had to stop reading and take a breather because I was so angry with Tor. My heart bled for Landon and their girls. I tell this to my children all the time to teach them a lesson in doing something whether it was good or bad. "for every action there is a reaction. What you put out in the world will come back good or bad. Bad if you have done bad or lied, good if you have done something good"  This lesson defiantly applied to this story.

In my fit of anger towards Tor, I had to realize that she was hurting too. I didn't get that until the conclusion of the book. I commend Tor's best friend and assistant Brook for being there for her throughout Tor's whole ordeal. She's the real MVP. Throughout everything Brook has stood beside Tor whether it was to give her advice, call her out on her shit or telling Tor to get her shit together.  Brook could have easily told her to kick rocks and figure it out herself, but she didn't because Brook loved her enough to help Tor though her problems.

As a married woman I never would want to put myself in Tor's shoes. I really had to get over my initial disgust and really dig deep to understand things from Tor's eyes. Once I did I really started to emotionally connect with her.

Now that my emotions have sorta settled down and I'm less itchy. I can honestly say that besides Colleen Hoovers "It Ends With Us" this book really ranked high in my best reads so far this year list. This is my first time reading something from E.K. Blair and her way with words is outstanding. I love it when an author can transport you from reality and into a book without you realizing you went anywhere at all until reality kicks back in. I call them my Never Ending Story authors(for those who don't know what that move its please watch, it's like the mecca of children's 80's movies).

I will defiantly be looking into more of E.K. Blair's books, as soon as I get over this book hangover.

One more note before I sign off. Tor kinda left me hanging in the end so I wanna know what happens next.

Review It Ends With Us By Colleen Hoover

I didn't put the Goodreads blurb up because I wanted you all to read this without having preconceived notions about this book. I highly reccomend you read this book going in blind. Trust me, you'll see what I mean when you reach the end.

It took me a week to finish this book. Between being hectic at work and going on a family day trip I started off slow with this one. What I really wanted to do was just dive in without going to work or family day trips or running around.

Since my hectic week last week. I'm glad that I did not finish in my normal reading time frame. I wouldn't have been able to concentrate on my work.

But when I did finish(at home of course). I now have the biggest book hangover ever and will probably need a few days to process everything I read.

As I type this I am still crying. This story weighed heavily on my mind last night and this morning. I am really mourning for these characters in this book for all he heartache they have endured, but I have a sense of peace knowing the direction the ending went.

I can't even sum this book up without inadvertently slipping spoilers in.

So I'm not..

I took the advice from my fellow Cohorts and went in blind.

I did not read the blurb

I didn't even know what this book was about. All I know is from early reviews and Colleen saying that this was her most emotional book yet and what Her lead male characters name is.

I am defiantly putting this book up on my top 3  Colleen Hoover Books.  This book emotionally for me is on the same level as Loosing Hope and November 9. I take that back it's defiantly above them in the emotional duress category.

I really want to punch Colleen in her arm for making me cry so much but I want her to give me a hug and comfort me because of my current emotional state.

Basically to sum up my ramblings, Go read this book!!! Be an emotional wreck like I am.

Don't hesitate because your afraid.

Embrace it.

It Ends with Us is beautifully written and Colleen's style of writing is on another level.

Colleen if you are reading this "I want to be you when I grow up"

Review Paper Princess/Broken Prince (The Royals) by Erin Watt

Hello fellow book addicts

If there is one series that you have to read this year it has to be The Royal series by Erin Watt. As always the first book Paper Princess was on heavy rotation on my Facebook timeline so the curious little book addict that I am decided to see what all the hype was about. Yep I was a goner, when I read the first book in the series.

So today I will be doing a double review. I should have left a review for Paper Princess a few months ago but didn't get a chance to write one because of all of the stuff I was dealing with in my life at that moment.

So today like I mentioned you guys get a two for one..

Lets begin with Paper Princess.

Blurb

From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

I'm not going to lie when I first saw the cover on Facebook before reading the blurb, I thought that I was going to get a fairy tale type story.

Not even remotely close.

This story reminds me of the movie Cruel Intentions mixed with Mean Girls, with a whole lot more angst and drama.

I could not put this book down.

I really wanted to hate the Royal boys but couldn't when their backstory came to light. I did despise them in the beginning when they alienated Ella. They did however redeem themselves when they started banding together to protect Ella at school.

The one character whom I really connected with was Easton, Reed's younger brother. When you read about the boys you really think "Reed is the most damaged of them all", but it's actually Easton. I literally wanted to jump through my kindle and console him.  The bond that Ella and East have is one where I know that she can get through to him and his self destructive ways.

There are many challenges that Ella face in this book but I will not divulge on because I hate putting spoilers in my review.

I will say this...

Be Prepared For The Ending!!!!

Cliffhanger Alert!!!

If you have read this book then you know what I mean, but if you haven't then your in luck because the second book in The Royal series was released earlier this week. So you don't have to wait like I did to get the next installment.

These Royals will ruin you…

From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.

Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.

What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.

Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.

She might be right.

Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

This is the second installment of The Royals series.

This book is from Reed's and Ella's points of view, where as Paper Princess was from Ella's point of view.

I like that you get to see a second side of the story instead of just one point of view.

Reeds world is starting to fall apart and he could care less what happens at Astor prep without his direction. His only focus is finding and making things right with Ella.

If you have not read Paper Princess I suggest you do or your not going to know what's going on.

We were left off with a cliffhanger in Paper Princess.

That was one hell of a cliffhanger..

In Broken Prince we really get to see what happen from Reed's point of view. The first few chapters is Reeds, Ella point of view does not come in until the 8th Chapter. I think that was a good choice on Erin's part because we get to see how the Royals tick through Reed's eyes. You get to feel Reeds pain and guilt and not think it was another trick of his to get rid of Ella. Basically you get to see what makes Reed tick.

Broken Prince is way more intense than Broken Princess due to the cut throat drama from those who want to be a Royal to those who want to dethrone them. Just like with the previous book, this one I could not put down and actually finished it this morning.

What I loved about this second installment was that Ella broke out of her insecurities and decided that she has had enough of everyone's BS and stands up for herself, instead of just blending in. Ella also had to realize that she is not alone like she was before she met the Royals. I also liked that Callum was not as oblivious as the Royal clan though when it came to those wanting to bring his family down or use them.

The Royal family may be broken but they protect their own.

There were times when I out right gasped because of a shocking development in the story

Especially

The
Ending!!!

My goodness Erin is going to give me an anxiety attack with that ending.

I officially have a book hangover.

But

I can not wait to read Twisted Palace!!

Downside we have to wait til October

*Pouts*

I will say that the Royal Series is one of my top books of 2016 and will be rereading Paper Princess and Broken Prince before the release of Twisted Palace.

NetGalley Review: Until Harry by LA Casey

Blurb

He was my best friend, my best not-really-big-brother and my best protector. He was my best everything. He was mine.
Coming home is hard for Lane. Hard because Harry, her beloved uncle, has died suddenly, but also because of him. Kale.
Kale Hunt has been her best friend since childhood. But it was never that simple. He was Lane’s reason for leaving home and moving to New York. Seeing him with someone else, in love with someone else, shouldn’t have hurt. But it did. It really, really did. So she upped sticks and left, started a new life and cut herself off from her past.
But now she’s back and all the feelings are right there. As if she had never left.
Emotions are running high for everyone, and tragedy has a funny way of bringing people together. But is Lane reading the signs right? Are they still just friends, or is there something more?

Release Date: July 19th

At first thought when I read the blurb for Until Harry that this story was going to be one of those girl runs away from her heartbreak and returns home when tragedy hits, only to be reunited with the one who broke her heart.

Did all of that happen. Yes but this story goes much more deeper than what I just mentioned. I was not emotionally ready for this story. I though this was going to be about hurt feeling and the love interest would try his best to break through to the hereon of the story in a lighthearted sort of way.

 Nope didn't happen that way.

I was gutted... Like silently crying in bed trying not to wake my dork gutted.

Or reading at work today and having to take several mental breaks before I burst into tears while my coworkers looked at me like I finally lost it lol.

Lane and Kale's story left an imprint on my brain and heart. Beautifully written, I instantly connected with Lane and her emotions from her first flashback to switching back to present time to the end of the book. The bond between Lane and Kale is evident in the story line but you feel the emotions from both of them when reading.

I really don't know what else to say with out throwing out spoilers. but I will say that Lane has went through a lot in her teenage years and it made me think back to my days in high school. This is defiantly one of those books that if your looking for a good cry, you have defiantly found the right book for it.

Bravo to LA Casey for writing a beautiful story about love, loss and learning how to face your fears and past.

Review: The Randy Romance Novelist

THE RANDY ROMANCE NOVELIST by Meghan Quinn

Goodreads: http://bit.ly/1P3pJkb
Amazon: http://amzn.com/B01BDSLWNG
iBooks: http://apple.co/1TAd5wf

BLURB:
It finally happened, I lost my virginity. Cue applause and cheers.

For a while life was all rainbows and kittens prancing in a sky full of cotton candy clouds…that was until the demands of the real world set in.

My best friend is getting married and she asked me to be her maid of honor. She’s not worried about flowers, or the dress, or the food at the venue. No, she’s worried about the bachelorette party, what kind of penis crown she will wear, and the nipple size of the stripper who will be attending.

I’m in way over my head trying to balance life with a boyfriend, planning a penis party, and writing my romance novel. Something is bound to give.

This is my life after my happily ever after…

5 out of 5 stars

The Randy Romance Novelist is the squeal to The Virgin Romance Novelist( you can see the review for this book Here) . I was anticipating this book to see what happens next to our "once" Virgin Romance Novelist Rosie, and it was everything and more than what I imagined this book would be. Hilariously funny we once again get to follow Rosie into her new found sexual freedom with her best friend now boyfriend Henry. I can not stress enough how freakin funny this book is.

Rosie's misadventures continue with now having to learn how to be in a relationship with the one person she never imagined to be in a relationship with. On top of that Rosie is trying to finish writing her book and planning an epic bacholorette   party for her other best friend Delaney.

I loved that Meghan has kept the naivety that makes up Rosie's character. Once again I can easily relate to Rosie's misadventures in the bedroom with Henry.  Not wanting to put spoilers in this review, but my favorite and cringe worthy part of the book was at Henry's office party. Another funny tears in my eyes moment was the Vajazzle incident. You guys will understand when you read those two parts.  There were some moments when I wanted to yell at both Rosie and Henry to stop being so stubborn, but what's a good story without a little bit of frustration to keep the momentum going. I also loved how Meghan rounded out the ending of the story to give me a bit of closure to Rosie's life.

Meghan if your reading this I lied about that last line not the beginning but about the closure. I really want to see the next step in Rosie's and Henry's life. To me that would be the icing on the cake for this series lol.

The Randy Romance Novelist is one of the best romance/comedy books I have read this year.

Review: Sugar Love by Victoria H. Smith

Blurb

 Sugar...

That's some kind of name, isn't it?

It wasn't any type of name I'd heard of, but across the world, it seemed I was the only one.

You see, he's an international superstar, talented, sexy, and one day, he comes walking into my record store. He tells me he wants to buy some music, and later on, wants to get to know me a little better.

I had no idea he was here for his American debut, nor that he was one of the most successful rappers South Korean music had ever seen. If I had, I might not have been so frazzled when I found out and accidentally kidnapped him.

But then again...

Maybe that wouldn’t have mattered anyway.

I ran across this book on Facebook and the cover immediately had me intrigued. I'm so glad I one clicked this book. This is my first time being introduced to this author. Victoria's writing style is a breath of fresh air for me. I had been in a little bit of a reading slump and Sugar Love was the book to break my reading and reviewing slump.

This book immediately sucked me in and transported me to L.A with Harley and Jae. It's rare that I say I really didn't feel like I was reading, instead it felt like I was watching Harley and Jae's story unfold before my eyes. The storyline was very strong and the supporting character's Dom and Tess really kept the storyline moving, meaning adding in their own issues and support to Harley's character.

I also love the fact that this is an interracial couple from two totally different cultures. For me it added an extra layer to the storyline. I hope Victoria writes Tess story next. I would like to see where she goes with the potential love triangle she has created for Tess.

"What about you, Everly?"
"What about me what?" I ask, confused.
"Are you seeing anyone?" He looks over at me. "At school?"
Not successfully, I think to myself. "No, not right now. I'm kinda taking a break this semester."
"Taking a break," Eric repeats, glancing over at me. "That's not like you. At all."
I shrug. "It's exhausting."
"What's exhausting?" he asks, frowning.
"Um—" Breaking and entering, I think. But I can't tell him that. "You know, the whole 'does he like me' thing."
"If you have to wonder if a guy likes you, then he's not the right guy for you, Everly."
"Maybe it's more complicated than that."
"It's never more complicated than that."
